A health app that doesn’t need a watch
24/7 tracking, not needed. In, out and where you stand, without wearing anything.
What device-led apps are good at
If you wear a watch or a band, the apps built around it are excellent at what a sensor can measure: steps, heart rate, sleep stages, workouts. They collect it without you lifting a finger, around the clock. If that is what you want to see, a wearable and its app are the right tools.
Where they stop
A wearable measures what goes out: the steps you took, the energy you burned. On its own it can’t see what comes in. It doesn’t know what you ate, what you take, what your blood test said, or that your back has been sore since Tuesday. So it gives you half of the picture, and only for the hours you wore it. If you don’t own a device, or stopped wearing it, a device-led app has very little to show you.
What Sanomi does differently
Sanomi starts from what you can tell it, in your own words, whenever you have a minute.
- In, out, and where you stand. What you ate and drank, what you burned, and the net for the day, in one view. No device is needed for any of the three.
- Not round the clock. Sanomi doesn’t need to watch you for 24 hours to know your day. A minute here and there is enough.
- Log what you can. A line about your day, today or an earlier one. Every day filled in is not the price of an insight.
- Your plan carries the rest. Because your days are planned, Sanomi already knows their shape without watching you.
- Everyday effort counts. A walk, the gardening, a shift on your feet are counted without a device on your wrist.
- Already wearing something? Bring it across. Daily readings come in through Apple Health or Health Connect, if you choose to connect. Sanomi only reads them, and what you type always wins.
Which should you choose?
| If you want… | Choose |
|---|---|
| Continuous heart rate, sleep stages, workout detail | A wearable and its app |
| Health kept without owning or wearing a device | Sanomi |
| Calories in, calories out and the net for the day | Sanomi |
| Food, medication, results and how you felt, together | Sanomi |
| Both | Both: connect the device’s readings to Sanomi |
Questions users ask
Do I need a watch to use Sanomi?
No. Nothing in Sanomi requires a device.
What if I already have one?
Connect Apple Health or Health Connect and your readings fill in automatically. It is optional, and you can disconnect at any time.
Will it be less accurate without a device?
It will be an estimate from what you tell it, and it says so. For most people, a fair picture kept up is worth more than a precise one abandoned.
