Why Sanomi

Calories in and out, from what you say you had and did.

Track what you eat and drink and what you burn, in your own words and in one app. See every part of the number, and where you stand for the day.

Say it, snap it or type it

Log a meal in your own words, by photo or barcode. Sanomi estimates it, breaks it into its components, and lets you edit any of them if you need to.

Save your favourites

Save the meals and drinks you have often, and log them again in a tap — star a favourite or add it to your plan, and you never type it twice.

Your burn counts too

A walk, a gardening afternoon, a shift on your feet — everyday effort is counted for your body, so you see in and out, not just in.

Sanomi counts the way you actually eat: say the meal in your own words, see every part of it, and see what you burned on the same day — the whole ledger, in and out, in one app.

Most calorie apps ask far more and give back less: search a database, pick the closest match, guess the grams, and get one figure for the whole plate with nothing behind it. Most people last a fortnight.

Say it, snap it, or scan it

Log a meal the way you would describe it to a friend.

Menus and databases are the reason people stop logging. In Sanomi you type or say what you had — "two eggs on sourdough with avocado" — take a photo of the plate, or scan a barcode. Sanomi works out the meal from that. The quickest log is a sentence.

Every part, its own count

See what went into the number, and change any part of it.

One figure for a plate hides everything. Sanomi shows each component of the meal with its own calories, and the macros and micronutrients underneath. Change an amount and only that part is re-estimated. You are never handed a total you cannot see inside.

Save it once

Anything you eat or drink often is logged again in a tap.

The same breakfast, the same protein shake, should not cost you the effort every time. Save anything you eat or drink the way you have it, and it goes on your plan — daily, weekdays, whenever it belongs — and counts on the days it belongs. Favourites sit one tap away for the days that do not follow the plan.

Your burn counts too

A walk, some gardening, a shift on your feet — counted for your body.

A counter that only counts what goes in tells half the story. Say what you did, in the same plain words, and Sanomi works out the burn for your body, not a generic one — the same way whether or not you have a wearable device. No device needed to count what you did.

Your net position

In, out, and where you stand for the day you actually had.

Because both sides are counted in one place, Sanomi works out your net calories for each day — from that day’s own food and that day’s own activity, planned and logged, not one fixed target repeated. A heavy day on your feet burns more and leaves you more room; a quiet day, a little less. So the answer to the four o’clock question — what can dinner look like? — fits the day you are actually having. And it counts what you logged, not what you missed: a meal you did not log is simply left out, never held against you.

What one place changes

None of this asks you to be precise. It asks you to be honest for a sentence, and it does the rest — and because the count lives beside your record, it already knows your weight, your goal and what you are working around.

Good to know

Do I have to log every meal?

No, and Sanomi never scores you or breaks a streak for a gap. It works with what you give it, rough or complete — but the more fully you log, the truer your record, and the sharper every answer and report drawn from it.

Does it work with barcodes and photos?

Yes. Scan a packaged food, photograph a plate, or say it in words — whichever is convenient.

What about home cooking and eating out?

Describe it. Sanomi works out the parts, and you adjust any amount that looks off.

Does it use my watch’s calorie count?

No — Sanomi works out the burn itself, for your body, from what you did, rather than taking a wearable’s calorie estimate. Other readings, like steps, heart rate and sleep, can connect through Apple Health or Health Connect and sit in your record; the burn stays Sanomi’s own.
